Experience

Technical Intern at Mobilink GSM, Pakistan

Mobilink GSM is the largest cellular service provider in Pakistan, both in terms of network coverage and customer base.

  • Worked on cell planning to install new base stations to improve coverage and capacity
  • Gained experience working on several GSM planning and testing software such as AIRCOM Enterprise v5 (ASSET), TEMS Investigation and MapInfo Professional 7

Design Projects

  • Studied the behavior of electromagnetic waves in air using maxwells equations (EM Wave propogation in light of Maxwells Equation)
  • Completed a GSM Jammer project, which disrupts GSM communications in a given area by generating disturbance signals on downlink frequencies. (Senior Design Project) – Nominated for CNS Gold Medal more
  • Participated in the acclaimed National Engineering Robotics Contest (NERC) 2006, which aimed for an automated, autonomous, indigenous robot. more

  • Created a feedback control “blimp altitude control” circuit using dumb polling using a 8051 microcontroller, a DC motor and a ranger.
  • Created a interface card between an 8051-based training board and a PC via parallel port interface which provided the board with an easier command interface.
  • An Automated Relative GPA Calculation Program in C with a custom-created GUI

 

Management / Leadership Exposure

Developed management skills leading different projects at the University. Have also been involved in organizing several alumni reunions and sports tournaments.
